We continue to thank the Lord for great ultrasound results and Ob visits! Each baby weighs close to 3 lb- one is 2 lb, 14 oz and the other just topped 3 lbs.
Both have great fluids and blood flow and measurements. One boy is transverse and one is breech. (see image) It continues to amaze us to see the miracle of God's creation unfold.
At the Ob we found out that my blood pressure is good for a woman with twins at my age (I typically have low bp) and that while my extremities have indeed become swollen it is within reason for bearing twins. The pain below my naval seems to be the abdominal muscle splitting in half, which is also typical for a twins pregnancy. Also, ligaments are stretching and pulling, making walking uncomfortable.
Of course, I'll take it all! It is a blessing to experience each stage of this wonderful pregnancy!! We continue to thank the Lord for the positive support and encouragement we receive.

"Your baby's permanent teeth have developed and are waiting in his gums. Your baby is very aware of his surroundings and his eyelids will open and close. He will even look around and turn toward light. We tend to think of the uterus as a dark place but the uterus actually can be light and dark depending on your environment. Your baby weighs almost three pounds now and is approximately 15.5 inches long." (Pregnancy newsletter for singletons)...
From a Twin Newsletter: "It is during this crucial month that the twins growing inside you will cross the threshold of viability. Because of the remarkable advances in care for premature infants, their rate of survival has gone up considerably when they reach 28 weeks. They will double their weight this month and grow to approximately 15 inches in length. Every feature is becoming more distinct as hair continues to grow, more fat accumulates under the skin, and eyelids become unfused. They will each have their own individual sleep cycle also. With the uterus persistently growing and stretching as your twins gain in size and weight, each symptom becomes amplified. Ligament pain and pressure of the uterus are increasing. Frequent urination is making a comeback. Edema (extra accumulation of fluid in your tissue) can be causing swollen extremities. Fatigue is getting worse...Many a mother carrying twins will tell you how uncomfortable they are starting to get at this stage of pregnancy. Fatigue has become more pronounced and it is becoming very hard to find a comfortable position to sleep, let alone sit. Swelling of the lower extremities may be occurring regularly now, especially if you don't take time to put your feet up throughout the day. Back pain may start or worsen. Shortness of breath will be common, as it becomes more difficult to take deep breaths. Be sure to listen to your body, as preterm labor becomes an increased risk the further along you progress. If you haven't already, you should be choosing a pediatrician for your twins."
